Do I want to buy...
either/both of these PC4K S-type thingies (compressor or expander/gate) that are on sale for $19.99 each? Your thoughts - are they worth it (besides making McQ jealous) for someone who's already well equipped?

I didn't think I'd use the expander/gate, but I've ended up using it some and like it. the compressor is great! I have ended up using it on every project since I bought it because it's a very easy way to sidechain my bass and kick.

I've been using the Fx bin less & less since I bought the PC modules. And they don't sound any worse than many other 3rd party plugs I've tried over the years, even including some not-so-cheap plugs.

For $20 each I'd use 'em. I like to use an SSL style expander to make my hatz spit, and a little inline track compressor is often useful. Fill yer boots I'd say. I'm waiting for the Horse and Belt of destiny buttons to appear. http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2566629

I'd rather see you give the money to Jon to change his avatar.

spacey I'd rather see you give the money to Jon to change his avatar. I was just being family freindly. Consider it done, I'll even do it for free, I'm bored of it now...

Thanks. I think I'm going to go for the compressor. I did an inventory last night and found I already have quite a few decent gates/expanders (who knew?). I told myself I had "enough" comps (and EQ's) and wasn't going to buy anymore, but for $20 the PC integration makes it worthwhile if it's decent.
