Do Sonar have dedicated zoom vertical and horizontal controls or key?
Hey guys, Do Sonar have dedicated zoom vertical and horizontal controls? This is bugging me for weeks now. I thought I just can't figure out how to use the zoom but whenever I'm zooming either in the piano roll or in the track view it doesn't seem to zoom as intended. Sometimes I zoom in vertically and works fine then when I zoom out both vertical and horizontal will zoom out making my midi notes stretched. I came from reaper and it's just so easy in reaper to zoom horizontal and vertical, I really want to move to Sonar because of the features but this functionality is just too much to just leave alone because I write drum tracks in midi. btw, Im using alt+ scroll wheel to zoom but it seems like the zoom with alt will just randomly go vertical sometimes horizontal, I hope they change this and just have 2 dedicated keys for vertical and horizontal + scroll. Have you had a look at the possibilities that the keyboard shortcut preferences offer.... maybe you can assign some key combinations to perform zoom related tasks that you are after... if you search for "zoom", quite a few possibilities appear.

There's an option called "Mouse Wheel Zoom Options" in the Track view's Options menu. Check it out.

Hi. I use Ctrl + arrows (sideways and up/down), as they are default for zooming. Do not know if that is what you were after.

Ah yes, I forgot to mention that there's no way you can vertically zoom all or multiple tracks using the mouse wheel. The original post in this FR thread shows you 4 ways to vertically zoom tracks, including the one Ken just provided.

hover the mouse on top of the timeline in the PRV = intill it turns in to a little magnifying glass. then left click/drag up or down. this is how I zoom in prv and in TV.

It's kinda like that, but is there a way to have that functionality using mouse wheel? Just an example(I'm assuming that this keys are not in use for another function) Vertical zoom = F1 key +Mousewheel(up scroll for zoom in and down scroll for zoom out) Horizontal zoom = F2 Key +Mousewheel (up scroll for zoom in and down scroll for zoom out)

I think this is the closest that I can use for now. At least the left an right mouse click have the separate zoom vertical and horizontal function instead of using Alt+scroll that will just randomly go vertical or horizontal. Hope this doesn't offend anyone but I wish they can implement Reaper 5's zoom functionality for track view and piano roll. It's just so easy to use that it's like a part of your body after a couple of hours of using it. You can literally zoom vertical and horizontal with pin point precision without thinking. Thank you,

Vertical zoom = Resizing all tracks isn't possible with the mousewheel. Holding down Alt will resize just one track depending on the settings in the Mouse Wheel Zoom Options.
Horizontal zoom = Ctrl+Alt+Mousewheel

Click the Track View Options Menu then Mouse Wheel Options...
Uncheck the simultaneous Horizontal and Vertical Zoom.
Then you can use Ctrl + Alt + Wheel to zoom by time or Alt + Wheel to zoom into the track the mouse is over or change the option to zoom the current track. Good suggestion to zoom all tracks, we'll look into it. For now if you want to increase the height of all tracks, use the keyboard Ctrl + Up/Down. Or alternatively hit the 'F' key to zoom the track heights to fit the screen. You could also set up different zoom levels and use screensets to jump between.
