Do all your sidechained Plug ins become available for Insert Send?

Using X1 LE do you know how to get every plug in to show up as option for Insert Send?

For examples CompressivePro by Martin Eastwood Audio works.  I put on one track then go to another track and say Insert Send and CompressivePro shows up as option.  Excellent.

But Cakewalk's own Cakewalk FX Expander/Gate does not show up as option even if I click on side chain in Stereo Interaction section.

Also not working is Melda Production MCompressor even if I press side chain power button.

By not working I mean not showing up as an option when clicking Insert Send.

Does anything special need doing to make all plug ins show up?

Not all plug-ins are designed with a side-chain input. If the plug-in does not support it, there is nothing the DAW can do about it.

I agree with you but it seems that the Cakewalk FX Expander/Gate and the Melda MCompressor both should have side chain inputs.

Is it a bad assumption that because they have side chain buttons that means they have side chain inputs?

I wonder if someone from Cakewalk could address the Cakewalk plugin.

The FX series of effects do not have an external side chain input. They were developed years before Cakewalk supported external side chain inputs in effects. When the Side chain button is engaged the control signal comes from the left channel and is applied to the right channel.

FWIW, the MCompressor help does not indicate the side-chain feature uses an external input. There are MeldaProduction plug-ins which do have external side chain inputs such as MDynamics.

Thanks scook. Looks like I made wrong assumption. Now to learn what it means to have side chain without side chain input? Not asking you, I will refer to manuals. Thank you!
