Do not use the 'on' timer on your TV as an alarm clock

I'm having to get up at stupid o'clock to get the train to my shift at the range.

As well as the alarm on my phone and iPad I set the TV to turn on in a vain attempt at waking me (I sleep through most things).

So this morning there's a news story about a proposal for all puppies to be microchipped as newborns.  All my unconscious head heard was that all newborns are to be microchipped like puppies...!!

It's been bothering me all day.

Maybe we could implant a microchip alarm clock (to tell you to turn the TV off)?

I  have a love/hate relationship with waking up every day. I despise it but would never consider giving it up completely. Just make sure the coffee maker powers up before you do Karyn.

    stupid o'clock

That time of day suits me more than the rest of the 24 hours put together.

As for the news topic I'd hate it if all the puppies could track my movements.  I'd feel vunerable, especially when I go shopping for becan.

Newborn puppies keep on implanting me when I'm asleep.  The barking keeps waking me and I have to go around turning off alarms to make it stop.

    That's on a good day.

My puppies are my alarm clocks, one stands up right next to my head and shakes his head, thus jingling his collar while the other one stands on my chest and licks my ear until I wake up each morning - remarkably they do this at the same time each morning, precisely at 5:45 am.  Why I still set my alarm clock for 6:00 still escapes me.

    Here they are:

I used to have my alarm set to a rock oldies station. Unfortunately, I liked the music, and would let it run through indefinite snooze cycles.
Now I have it set to a local country station, which I find immensely annoying.
The alarm is set to 4:30AM.
I wake up at 4:28, just so I can whack the little bastard when it goes off.
This activity is often accompanied by a muffled chuckle from my wife's side of the bed.

What time was that Jan? (the earthquake)

10:37am.  A 3.9 in San Juan Capastrano--not far from the mission.  One quick whack.  It was just strong enough to know that it was an earthquake, but not so strong as to cause any panic.

I use a timer with a couple of small spotlights to shine right in my face.  That usually does the trick.  The timer has a little alarm too, but it wouldn't do the job by itself.

Since I tend to sleep when I'm tired and stay up when I'm awake, my hours can get pretty whacky.  Yesterday I slept from 7:30pm until 10:30pm, programmed until 6am then slept until 10:30am.  Tonight?  Who knows!  I just woke up from a 4.5 hour "nap" and will probably code all night again.  I'm trying to finish a Windows program that will run a dart tournament over the weekend - gotta love deadlines (real or imagined)!

This is pretty much my 'routine'.

The only difference here is that I'm not very asleep when I sleep and not very awake when I'm awake, so it's a bit like a slow and slight deviation between the two states.

(btw I'm typing this from my 'sleep' state.)

I suffer from something.  I don't know what it's called.  I'm sure it's a horrible ailment of some kind.

I'm not sure what to call it, but sometimes, it seems as if I'm not asleep.

    I know.  You're probably thinking, "That's insane!"

Yeah.  That's what my unicorn said, too.
