Do you already have Bass Station - want to go 64 bit?
For those who already have Bass station you can download version 2 here (assuming you don't already have it): http://uk.novationmusic.com/support/product-downloads?product=Bass+Station It should automatically supply you an activation code when you run it. You will need to register it. Really happy when my 32 bit plugins turn 64 bit for free! (nb I have no idea how I got it originally, I guess it came with Saffire Pro). Hope this is useful... p.s. Please back up your original VST DLL's just in case before installation.

? I don't get paid per post count, nor do I get community "points"- so no, post counts do not matter at all, but thanks for giving me the opportunity to add one to your post count and mine. This was really interesting information for me, I'm sorry this is of no relevance to you.

Thanks for the link. I got it free with my audio interface. Bass station blows, but I went through the upgrade process anyway. I now have another useless plugin, but at least it's upgraded and shouldn't crash Sonar-64 should I use it to make some bass sounds that all sound the same.

Well I own Basstation (came with my interface) and IIRC the reason I hadn't installed it was because it was 32 bit. I would not have known about this otherwise... so thanks for the heads up, Alex. Someday I'll start reading the other subforums... someday.

The way I look at it is, sure my other fancy synths have tons of bass sounds and probably even some basstation emus BUT if I ever need that specific sound or someone requests it (from what I understand it was a very popular hardware unit) I can just load it up instead of screwing around hunting through a million banks or tweaking patches. But maybe it does such. IDK... haven't tried it.

Are you signed up on KVR? I think one of the benefits of that website, if I'm not mistaken, is to keep you updated on all of your plugins and notify you automatically of changes, updates, etc. I think you can add "your plugins" to a tracking list. Can anyone speak to this? I have always thought about signing up, but all I need is another forum under my belt!

You can get collection of news at requested intervals in the old kvraudio setup. They are also running trial on something called "MyKVR". I have activated it as I view KVR as one of my main forums. But I haven't actually signed up (my plugins) for any newsfeeding... http://www.kvraudio.com/mykvr/

it does, and is useful for keeping up to date, but it relies on the dev updating the version number... also, the forums and news have little icons indicating a product you own

I tend to spend most time on the Software forum, then the coffee house for a laugh, then here. Mind you the atmosphere has improved no end up here since X3 was released. There is a lot of good information here and its no longer getting burried by the endless ****ing and trolling threads that were so common a while back.

Bass Station is good. But if you like it you should try Ugo Audio Rez 2. Free synth, and the best mono bass synth out there to my mind. Not sure if it is 32 bit - I'll have to check and see. @
https://soundcloud.com/a-pleasure-dome http://www.bnoir-film.com/ there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. 24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

Pretty sure it's synthedit and there's no 64-bits from that platform yet is there? Big fan of Ugo otherwise, really like his string theory. Don't have them installed, don't know why... I think NI's Monark gets my price right now for best bass synth by the way.

Just done a non scientific comparison Bass Station vs Monark as I just got Komplete the other day. Yup agreed Monark is more heavyweight sonically and I guess more desirable. I feel though it isn't an egg vs egg comparison.... They "feel" quite different, both synths can live side by side IMHO. Worth buying both? Probably not, and you could probably beef up the bass station with a bit of compression and effect (which I'm sure Monark is optimizing).
