Do you get crazy before travelling?

So we're getting ready for a trip tomorrow, and I find that as often as I travel, it never fails that I start to become very anxious and start obsessing over ridiculous details.  I think it's the anticipation or something, or something, or I'm actually crazier than I'm willing to admit to... which would be pretty scary.

So, I've come to the ONE place where I know I can get sage advice and tons of useful suggestions.  Folks, I need strategies.

I've been know to go all OCD before walking out the door and I check things over and over and over - Did I bring everything?  Windows closed? Doors locked? Appliances turned off?.

A good checklist helps me immensely in this regard.

Ok.  If you're flying within the US, there's one thing that you MUST do.  Make sure you prepare a fun surprise treat for the fine folks at the TSA as they grope you.  I'm not suggesting an legal infractions, obviously.  I'm just saying, a little creative packing of certain novelty items could really make their day.

On second thought, you may want to drive instead.

    start obsessing over ridiculous details.

    1. What to get Bapu
    2. Will Bapu be mad that I did not finish my tracks for him
    3. What is Bapu doing right now
    4. Will X1 Change Everything
    5. Will Bapu get X1
    6. How will Bapu know what I'm doing while I'm on my trip
    7. Who the heck is this Bapu and how can I get rid of him some

    1. An Alembic bass.  I don't think he has one yet.
    2. Bapu is as Bapu does (Bapu's Law)
    3. Since Bapu is as Bapu does, he is currently being who he is while simultaneously acting in consistent uniformity with his own character.  To do otherwise would mean that Bapu is as Bapu doesn't or that Bapu isn't as Bapu does, therefore contradicting the premise stated in Bapu's Law.
    4. According to Willy, it already has.  However, this thread (http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2137058) would seem to offer contradictory evidence.
    5. Bapu will be as Bapu will do (Bapu's Corollary to Bapu's Law)
    6. There are multiple methods of keeping Bapu informed.  Asking Bapu to follow you on Twitter, hosting multiple web chat sessions, lengthy cell phone calls, and cryptic clues forming a complex, encrypted, and nearly impossible treasure map are all tried and true means of keeping Bapu informed of such things.  One alternate solution is to bring Bapu on your trip.  In this manner, you can keep him informed of your activities, while continually purchasing additional bags of cheetos.
    7. The definitive work on Bapu is found in Bapu, The Complete Pathology by Professor Mooch.  For the sake of many in the Coffee House, a highly insightful and succinct summary of this exhaustive work may also be found in the pop-up book, Bapu's Moobs.

Ah, but these are not the details of which I speak.  The pressing question is-
What would Bapu do?  Would he simply do as he does, or would he do otherwise?

Would he simply do as he does, or would he do otherwise?

It seems (in pretzel logic) that if Bapu does otherwise, it becomes the new standard (much like The SONAR X1).

What you're doing is not crazy. It's part of the heightened awareness that you should have while travelling far from home and safety. Especially if you're driving. Obsessing over details is just the checking and rechecking of everything you need to be aware of both at home and on the road.

Ever since I hit that Deer in Colorado I get a little crazy before I travel. I love Venison, but not on the front bumper. I'm thinking a heightened awareness is in order while on the road.

Do you get crazy before travelling?

Usually on the trip to the gallows.

I find that passing out usually helps in those circumstances.

    Oh, it already has (http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2138370)

Thanks to Bubba's suggestions, I will no longer have to ponder the question as to exactly what a "full body cavity search" entrails entails.
