Do you guys use the numeric keypad for Sonar X1?

Since I just asked about lighting for a keyboard in a recent thread, I thought I would also inquire about the numeric keypad, its nearby keys and if you guys use it in conjunction with X1. Since I'm shopping for a keyboard, I want to know if that's something I'll need.

Yes! I do! And I couldn't be without! Sonar's beautiful nudging is on the Num keys and I also use the +, -, * and enter for previous measure, next measure, record and start/stop respectively.

However, I'm sure you could live without tho. To me it's like the transport and Clip aligning pad

Yes - for the same reasons ProjectM listed and I just find entering numbers easier from numeric pads easier than using the top of the keyboard when I type in values.

Another trick I never get tired of sharing for using the Num Pad- I pickedit up from someone here on the forum but can't remember who it was. Anyway, credits goes out to him. Or her!

Anyway, I've assigned the Snap values to the Ctrl+[Num Pad number]

For example I've assigned Snap to Measure to Ctrl+NUM PAD 0

    Snap to 1/2 to Ctrl+NUM PAD 1
    Snap to 1/4 to Ctrl+NUM PAD 2
    Snap to 1/8 to Ctrl+NUM PAD 3

    etc

Very handy for quickly change between them and I hope others get some use for this

I'm the other way round. I have snap values assigned to the numpad & Ctrl+numpad for nudging.

I'd get one with if I were you. For a while I was using a keyboard with a touchpad/numpad combo and it really was surprisingly limiting not having instant access to the numpad. My tuppence worth..
