Do you use the mp3 encoder bundled with X1?
So do you guys use this encoder or a 3rd party mp3 encoder? And if you do use a 3rd party encoder, is it more a hassle having to save it as a .wav file then converting it over to mp3?

I have a separate program with a (legal) MP3 encoder so I export as wav and use that if I want an MP3 (which is not very often).

I use the one in SONAR but have other programs that will also convert to MP3. Depends what I'm doing and what program I"ve been working in.

I always export my Sonar projects to WAV files. If I need an MP3 or FLAC, I use Media Monkey to do the conversion. I also have the LAME converter which works fine.

John - I have some older CW versions (CW Professional 8, Sonar 2.2, etc.) How do you use Pro Audio 9 to encode MP3 in X1? I you tell me what to look for, I'll look. Thanks.

In Pro Audio 9 CW had the MP3 encoder included at what the say was extra cost. It was a one time deal. Profession 8 did not have the MP3 encoder if I recall correctly. After Pro Audio 9 which was the last version of the Pro Audio line anyone that purchased PA 9 had a permanent right to use it in all following versions. Sonar 1 did not include the MP3 encoder as a built in cost for the program but CW let those that did not have PA 9 purchase the encoder at a low price. When I installed X1 all I had to do to authorize the encoder was insert the PA 9 disk. This was proof that I had paid the price for the encoder. I had to dl the 64 bit version but I did not have to pay for it. The above is somewhat convoluted but I think it explains the reasons and the process.
