Does Bandlab overwrite current Sonar!!?

I have not seen / read any info yet on what happens to my current version of Sonar Professional, when and if I download Cakewalk by Bandlab? Does it integrate with and then modify Sonar or does it install as a completely new and independent DAW program??? Please clarify.
ps - and now what should I do with Command Center stuff

Thanks

Read the stickies at the top of the page.  Meng and Noel and others have posted on the subject quite a bit.

Cakewalk by Bandlab and the older products reside side-by-side.  CbB is able to use preexisting resources but you may have to  import, or in most cases point to the directory folder for CbB to recognize the resources.

One way to think of how this works is to imagine how Music Creator, Home Studio and Sonar can be on the same computer.  Sonar, as the more powerful program can use the Music Creator and Home Studio files and resources.

The Sonar and Cakewalk programs seem to coexist nicely. However, handling of existing project data could be a little dicey. Cakewalk becomes the default program for opening .cwp files upon completion of the install. Double-clicking a .cwp file starts Cakewalk by default. However, Sonar is also manually executable and the same .cwp file is accessible via Open and Startup dialogs. Cakewalk will overwrite an existing Sonar project file if opened and saved by Cakewalk and vice versa. I'm surprised that I'm allowed to simultaneously have the same project opened in both products - something I'm going to do my best to avoid :-) But, the reality is that I can easily open and change the same project in both programs by accident if I'm not careful. That could be disastrous or confusing, at best.
