Does M-Box Mini Support Multiprocessing With Sonar?
I once had a Digi002 which apparently didn't allow Sonar to work in multiprocessing mode. That was two years ago. Has this changed with the new hardware? I'm thinking about replacing my beat-up M-Audio Duo which I bought 6-7 years ago with a new portable interface and maybe an M-Box would work well I'm thinking. As I'm gettiing all sorts of projects on my hands it would be nice to be ready for some ProTools as well, but - if I can't use my laptop's (a MacBook) dual core processor I'd have to pick another interface. Does the M-Box support dual core processors with Sonar?

I believe the new standalone drivers support multiprocessing but you should check with digi.

I've tried posting at the Digidesign forums but with no luck. Is anyone using Digidesign hardware with Sonar? Does multiprocessing work now days?

I've got an m-box mini,no go with multiprocessing. I just found out how to get the mini to work in Sonar just a week ago by turning off MP. I've been thinking of selling the mini as of late.I just don't do very much in PT. I thought that I was going to get some work in on the program but it just never materialized.... Jt

That's shame. Do you know if the MBox 2 Mini handles the multiprocessing? edit..: Any other recommendations for a small portable interface...?

Giannis, Did you get your answer? I did some testing in March and found out that the Demo of Sonar 8 allowed multiprocessors with a 002 rack that I was able to borrow. Sonar 7 didn't allow multiprocessors. So the school purchased a 003 (so that they could run Pro Tools and Sonar), and now I can't seem to get the ASIO driver to show up in Sonar. I have selected ASIO in options-audio. I may have accidentally installed an old driver though.

I have the Mbox 2 (USB) that is working fine with Sonar 8 under ASIO. AFAIK multiprocessor mode is working perfectly - -D

My Mbox 2 pro works fine with Sonar 8 and supports multiprocessing (asio). Did you ever try to call Digidesign? But then you are probably up and running by now!

I have Mbox 2 Mini. It worked fine in Sonar 8.5 but it's a no go for me in Sonar X1. I'll probably sell it.
