Does Platinum upgrade write over or install along side Sonar X3e?

As an IT professional I am always cautious when installing recently released software upgrades.  I want to make sure that my current version of Sonar X3e will still be available if I run into issues with Platinum.  Can both versions be installed like with previous updates?

Thanks

Yes, you can have Platinum and X3 installed together, that's what I have done and X3 works as before. However, some shared parts like VST plugins or Pro Channel modules may be replaced depending on the path settings.

So would it be a good idea to designate independent paths for the Platinum?

If that is even possible...I think it is.

I just want to have my X3e completely unaffected by the new install of Platinum.

And, I want the full experience and install of Platinum to be completely unaffected by X3e.

I think I might need help.

    Just install Platinum.

Do not attempt to modify in any way your existing setup with X3e

Both versions will be available should you feel the need to open up older projects in X3

The pointer was for @nedramage's benefit so I would not have to re-type replies.
