Does Step Sequencer Allow Merging of Different Tracks?

If this isn't possible, I'm going to make a STRONG suggestion at the Features Ideas forum.  I know that the Step Sequencer usually works on a PER Track basis, and I'm pretty sure you can't merge multiple tracks in order to see what each part is playing at once. I've been using the Piano Roll view to accomplish this lately, but I was wondering if that's possible in the Step Sequencer.  As a drummer I prefer to create separate drum maps for each drum group.  Example: my drum tracks incl. Kick, Snare, Toms, Hihat, Cymbals, and 2 Perc tracks. So, I have a Kick, Snare, Toms, etc. Map for each soft synth that I have, or want to have.  I'm aware that I could use a single track for all of my sounds based on a GM Map, and separate the voices once I have everything laid out. Just checking.
