Does your wireless mouse lag when using Sonar (or anything else)?

One thing that's continually frustrated me when using Sonar is that when I'm doing a lot of operations with the mouse, the pointer has the tendency to stick or lag sometimes. It seems to happen most when moving it across GUI elements, anything that causes the computer to think. I also notice this in other software, for instance in my browser, but it's always been worse when working in programs with big complicated interfaces, like Sonar. I'd always put it down to either a faulty mouse, or bad mouse drivers, or even that the surface I use my mouse on wasn't ideal (and to that end I've been through multiple mouse pads and even just using the desk surface on its own). 
 
Well tonight I decided to look into it a bit more and came across a forum post in which someone talked about their wireless mouse (the same as mine, a Logitech MX Anywhere) using the 2.4 GHz frequency, same as their wireless router. He said that what worked for him was going into his wireless router settings and changing the channel that the wireless network utilizes. So I did a search on how to get into my router settings, and lo and behold there is an option to set the channel for 2.4 GHz (mine also has 5GHz but I left that). Most routers will have this set to "auto," so I changed mine to "2" instead (to pick a random number). 
 
I'd still like to give it 24 hours before making a definite conclusive statement, but I have to say that I've been messing around for an hour and my mouse hasn't lagged or stuck once. That would seem to suggest that the problem was being caused by my wireless router interfering with my wireless Logitech mouse. Other's mileage may vary (perhaps your sticking problem has a different cause, or perhaps selecting a different channel would work for you). 
 
Anyway I'm just putting this out there as a possibility because so far it's giving me a much smoother, more satisfying Sonar experience mouse-wise. I'm pretty excited about this!

When looking at my router settings I also noticed that I had the power level set to "high," and I presume this is the strength of the signal being transmitted? I set this to "low" because I only use wireless for my laptop and my phone, and I'm never that far away from the router. 

I have a wireless keyboard and mouse on both of my desktop systems and do not experience any lag whatsoever.
 
But it helps if the USB dongle can physically "see" the mouse & kbd, in other words don't have them too far away or around the back of your computer. I did originally and couldn't get any mouse activity to register, so I bought an inexpensive USB hub which sits on my desktop.

I was having weird issues so I used a USB extension cable and put the little receiver dongle right up behind the keyboard. Seems to work better now. My wireless router is 30 feet away so I don't know if that was the issue but certainly worth a look see. 

I've done the exact same thing after experiencing mouse 'drop-outs'.  Haven't had a problem since.

I use a wireless mouse with the nano-receiver inserted into a usb hub without any lag at all.

The only good use for a USB hub -- 
I love those USB extension cables , I have up to 3 on both my DAW and office computer. That way you don't have to pull the CPU out when needing a port. 
Front ports always seem iffy. 

I find these problems occur if I have the Logitech transmitter plugged into a USB3 hub with other devices plugged in.  I just keep it alone on a USB2 port.

There are 3 non-overlapping channels for 2.4 GHz wireless: 1, 6 and 11. The ones in-between have some degree of overlap in frequency space.
 
This is only true for 20 MHz bandwidth channels. Some routers allow 40 MHz channels (called Mode 300 Mbps on my Netgear router, also perhaps called Wide Mode, or something else). Wider channels imply more overlap, so use 1 and 11 if using this mode.
 
You may have seen this, but it explains that Logitech mice don't use a fixed channel. They search for an empty channel.

So perhaps the channel width is the key here. I don't know if the power setting you talk about is the same thing or not.

I've used a Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse for years with Sonar and experienced no lag issues. I do in some instances hear the 'zipper' noise when using the mouse for dragging panes or zooming in/out on the timeline.
