Chaz did a nice job, but did have something good to work with didn't he...
I think he took every insrument and your voice and put it in it's own sonic space.

Very nice tune. Chaz's mix is very Chazesque, and that's a good thing: very clean and smooth. Gives it a kind of stately / anthem like sound to it. Your mix wasn't half-bad, more in your face. Comparatively, it's not as leveled. There was a little figure at 1:28 in yours that I liked that was omitted from Chaz's. It's a small item.

Sonically very nice Stu. In your face closeness with all instruments...up close and personal with some great space. Good sounding song, too.
2 things:
The acoustic lead sounded DI'd, which I didn't dig too much. Actually, the acoustics in general had some of that piezo tin to them. Also, needs some harmonies...
Typical Stu vocal performance...definitely signature at this point.
Very good job.

Chaz did a nice job, but did have something good to work with didn't he... Well..... I did have to work on some things to get them to sound as good as they do in the mix, but the foundation of the song is fairly solid and a good basis from which to start. Plus, it is a great little tune to boot!

There was a little figure at 1:28 in yours that I liked that was omitted from Chaz's. It's a small item. Ed, There is a little guitar phrase that comes in around that time, but it is also included in my mix.

Thanks for the tune - some have commented that it's a "typical Chaz mix" - that's a good thing, IMHO. Others have said that he had a good base to work with - I would also agree with that - great job!

I'm gonna have to start playing that bass guitar I bought. I like this sound much better than teh midi bass I am doing. Cute song. A bit mellow for my taste. I might have tried speading it up a little?
Mix wize I want to be honest. I did not like the mix on the accoustic guitar. I am not sure what it has, I think some reverb or maybe a little chorus effect or something. I would definitely take it off. (That was the Chaz mix).

Both mixes sound just as good to me, just...different. The chaz one is smoother sounding, but I don't know if I like that as much. I can pick out the individual instruments and parts easier on the original mix (which is something I like a lot as a musician) but the song sounds more unified on the Chaz mix. Sounds to my ears like Chaz may have done a little mastering work on the mix as a whole.

Yup... That would be one of them.
This is encouraging. I tend to do this, even though I assumed that it's wrong. What I end up with is louder tracks that don't sound too compressed, and I am always a bit paranoid that I just can't hear that the songs sound like crap. It's encouraging to hear that not everyone thinks this is bad technique. Sincerely, CHAZ
