Don't like it upstairs.............................

Wow, I get so angry from the dumbest posts on the Sonar forum.  I totally understand being an newb, but some of these questions are beyond basic.  I will stick to this forum, and the software forum.  Sorry if this post is just as DUMB!

I couldn't have become a teacher, either . Not for my nerves. It's so embarrassing and annoying how low the "homework treshold" is nowadays. The kids come right over here to be spoon fed without reading the manuals or anything. And when you mention a feature they don't know, they're back in a second asking "where is it, how do you use it??" instead of searching the Help files. And when you give them basic advice that is straight from about the first page of the Manual, they go " Wow...You're the man! Excellent advice! Would've never sorted it out myself!".

Unfortunately, there obviously are quite a few basic things that confuse folks because they don't work as expected, or they're so different from the earlier versions. But that's another story.

Actually, I should shut up. I've had such a long break in DAWing due to moving house, that when I eventually get something started, I may be in need of basic advice again

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

Welcome to the Coffee House.  Most of us here are refugees from the Upstairs Apocalypse.  It's a lot like the Zombie Apocalypse, but without the good times.  We have a lot of experience in dealing with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stupidity Disorder), so feel free to relax and be yourself.  Of course, you can be someone else if you prefer.  We're okay with that, too.

If nothing else, spending a little time with us will make you feel very good about yourself by comparison.  Spend too much time, and you may feel a compulsion to have your brain scraped.  That's okay.  In time, the sensation will grow dull enough that you can enjoy the FSF.  Well, "enjoy" might be taking it too far.  I should have said that you can tolerate it while drooling and twitching spasmodically.

Okay, some of us did that before Bapu started the FSF.  See, don't you feel better about yourself already?

Aren't we all capable of dumb questions?  See - I just asked one!

I think everyone is entitled to ask dumb and foolish questions at least once in their life.  What really bugs me is when others ridicule them for doing so.

So there.

Dumb questions could be a good thing if they're an indication that new people are buy X3.  That means that the bakers will be around to work on X4.  On the other hand--they could just be dumb questions.  Never mind.

Re: Don't like it upstairs............................. 2014/02/07 09:38:46 (permalink)
I like upstairs.

Recording with computers is not easy and one can become overwhelmed easily trying to deal with getting it all to work.
Because there is so much that could be causing problems and the investment one makes, not only money but with their time, it can get very tuff, frustrating and just a PITA. Not easy to see something right in front of you sometimes.

One has the oppertunity thanks to a very knowledgeable user base to have most any issue resolved. Knowing the right question isn't easy but it sure helps when you have people that understand that and are kind enough to take time not only to find the correct question if need be -but also the answer.

I see you are new so welcome to the Cakewalk forums.

Hey, I'm not the brightest bulb, but if I can't figure things out, I at least try searching the forum, and google, and usually find what I'm looking for.  I'm happy that people ask questions that help me, but some questions are beyond basic...like, I just got X3 and now I can't tie my shoes....HELP!!!!

You are underestimating the good folks that frequent this entire forum.  14 posts and you have a huge opinion of this place!  Yikes, wait until you have 140 or 1,400 or 14,000!  I just can't wait!!!

After 15 posts, you won't even care what people say.
As a matter of fact, you won't even bother reading what other people are posting.......you'll just happily follow the Bapu Principle of Posting.
