Don't we make a bigger deal out of stuff than we should?

Like remember that thing - whatever it was - that you had a fit over - threw or tantrum - or PANICKED about - and that happened a few years ago

in retrospect

Didn't we all make a bigger fuss than it was really worth

even to the point of thinking

"Boy was I stupid for having THAT reaction"

This type of thing has continually happened to me throughout my life

my final  conclusion - and my now reaction to most things

"Who Cares?"

I hope you now all understand me

If loving you is wrong - than I dont want to be right,

Mooch

    My philosophy is ..."Who Cares?"

Give me the list of people who care.

    Who cares?

    Where is the list!!

I know dang well Warren Beatty doesn't care  _ I would be surprised if he was on THAT list - he so vain he probably thinks this thread is about him - Don't he? Don't he? Don't he?    >>> http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2298438

I live by Erma Bombeck's motto: don't sweat the small stuff. It was her advice on parenting, but it's pretty portable to other endeavors.

I once applied for a job at a startup looking to hire their first employee. It looked like a dream gig, a ground floor opportunity and an interesting product. Dreams of being employee #3 when they went public. But they turned me down because I had a family to support and they wanted someone in a better position to share the risk of a startup. I was pissed. I was qualified and I wanted the gig, and I felt discriminated against. A month later I drove by their office and there was a For Lease sign in the window.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

    +1 Bit

When you sweat over the little stuff all the time, and when a "real" problem arises, your brain just migrates into the twilight zone. For every situation, there's a certain amount of attention, energy, and reason needed to be given to get the best results.....too much or too little might get you unnecessary adverse effects.....just like compression!! LOL....

This topic has made me think about something my dad always used to say to me.  I've always been something of a worrier, and my dad would sense when I was worrying and ask me what I was worrying about.  Then he would say- "And what were you worried about 5 years ago?"  I was never able to answer.

It is HUMAN nature to be concerned, worry, fret(not an alembic bass) cry, agnst, and be plain sick about things we can or cannot control. Yes, afterwards, one may look back at the situation and wonder why they worried sick about it, especially if the outcome is good or favourable.

We need friends, family, and professionals. when necessary, to help us through those times of crisis and concern.
It is difficult in this forum to empathize " in person" and make that human contact that is so necessary sometimes for healing and renewal, but a few words , a call, a message do help.

Today is Mothers Day, and my mom has been gone since 1998. I am coping with my feelings of loss today , even after all the years . by myself.
So I DO CARE about those of you who still have a parent or parents alive, and  more so, those of you who don't.

    I CARE

My wife likes to say everything happens for a reason.....

I got fired... May 8th,  20 years ago yesterday, from one of the best jobs I'd had to that point.... really nice bennies and pay and working conditions were pretty good, plus there was room to rise in the corporate hierarchy to bigger and better things.... I had been promoted to a staff position managing 45 employees in a division of the company. 3 years total with the company and I was fired, because "they" thought I really wanted to work in electrical since I was studying for an associate degree in Electrical Engineering. The real reasons were political. The people above me were scared I was going to get their jobs. And I probably would have, had I not been fired.

2 weeks later, I started this business and have not regretted it too often. There have been times where I wanted to throw in the towel, but for the most part...I would not change anything.

    Everything happened for a reason.

We're hoping that's the case as well.  There's five of us that all used to make six-digits and all with at least 25 years of experience in our fields - and all out of work...  So we created a startup business to keep busy and now, after two long years of hard work with no pay, it looks like things are going to take off and we'll all be living very well in another couple of years - much better than if we had stayed with our dead-end corporate jobs.  Of course, having to deal with my overly emotional, bi-polar, VP of Sales and Engineering every day (I'm currently living in a room at his house) is probably preparing me for a relatively tranquil life if I ever get married... LOL!
