Hi Lynn, Wow, really cool song and great mix. I like the marimba and your guitar fills but, I do think it would be more effective if they were maybe used a little more sparingly...but that's just me. Excellent job!

Hey Lynn nice song and mix. I agree with James above, maybe introduce the Marimba a little later, and maybe squash it in the mix a little more. Some of the hits seems to jump out during the vocal lines. Maybe some automation so it comes off as more of a counter melody between vocal lines. Just throwing some thoughts out. Nice job all around

Gary, thanks for dropping by and having a listen. I appreciate your comments, and the marimba will be the attention of the next mix. Freddy, thanks for the compliments and your time. It's always good to hear from you. Mike, thanks for your time and comments. There's something of a consensus about the marimba. That's why I'm here. Your contributions are invaluable. Bob, your comments always mean a lot to me, as well as your time. Here's the latest news: though I will be doing a remix shortly, another esteemed member of our forum has asked to mix this song, and I sent my file to him and hope to hear something after the holidays, hopefully. Either way, this has just begun.

Hey Lynn Love the flow and structure of this piece. Great break at 1:48. Man, can you sing/harmonize. Mix sounds great on my end. I'm on my third listen and I can't help but think who do you sound like. Sixth listen and I say this only in a positive way. Your vox sounds a bit like David Lee Roth. KUDOS! Kev

bayoubill, it's been too long! Thank you for stopping by, and I'm glad you like the groove. You can thank Superior Drummer for the great loops and fills from their Avatar kit. Paul, thanks for the comments about the marimba. I'm still up in the air about mixing them, but they will be present no matter what. Kev, I'm glad to hear from you, as always. Thanks for your kind comments and your time. My singing has been compared to everyone from PeeWee Herman to Jimmy Durante, but never DLR. Cool! That's quite a surprise.

After reading all the comments while listening, I can see the point about maybe starting sparse and adding instruments gradually (or all at once later). But it's your baby...and it's quite nice as it is. :)

Solid tune, Lynn... killer groove. The bass part deserves to be prominent in the mix, but (caveat here- I listened on my pc speakers) seemed a bit too out front to me (again... may have been the speakers). Loved it all the same.

Hey Lynn...man, when this first began the marimba groove instantly reminded me of Oingo Boingo -- so I liked it from the first :) Very good song and recording -- my only only nit is that the drums need some eq or something to bring them out a tad -- singing is great as is the guitar -- I do agree with some other comments re: sparsing out the arrangement a bit, but that's a small nit. I enjoyed this :) Oh, thanks for your comments on my song Til Love Steps In -- much appreciated. Allan www.youtube.com/user/Kittibutt

Lynn, Great tune! Mix is great but feels a little cramped. I think it's what someone else said about the compression. When the middle opens up it "feels" better. Xylophone made me keep checking my freaking iPhone, ha ha. Love the vocals and I really like the idea of building the tune up with a sparser beginning. Regards, Dan

Lynn I want to thank all of you that have helped me with this project. I've taken several of your suggestions and remixed this song. It can be found in post #1 or here: http://www.soundclick.com...ngid=12009916&q=hi Lynn I've been gone awhile and just catching up on this latest mix. Love it, great job! I think my favorite parts are the way you pan your guitar parts right and left like one part is answering the other. Extremely well mixed and balanced, I can tell you've really worked on polishing individual parts here - thanks for sharing such an amazing work and keep on going with that groove! -John

Lynn, Great tune and production. The groove is awesome. On the fence about the Marimba. It sounds good, but I would consider mixing it up in a few places with some alternative percussive or percussive synth tones so it isn't Marimba all the way. Great work. Regards

John, thanks for having a listen and your kind comments. It's good to hear from you. markno999, thanks for you time, and I appreciate your comments. As far as the marimba goes, your suggestion is intriguing, and I did change from marimba to a different sound in the bridge of the song. However, I do love the marimba, and I did cut 50% from the original mix, so I'm going to give this a little time before I take it off life support. Steve, thanks for dropping by and your kind words. Welcome to the forum.

Havent heard this one yet Lynn. Firstly the groove of this makes it stand out more from other songs. The marimba makes it interesting (but like markno99 im not sure if it really fits here, on the fence) and the vocals are excellent. Some tasty guitar licks there too. I can tall a lot of work went into this and it shows. Well done.
