Dots that mark the measures in clips pane have disappeared...

I have a question regarding the clips pane in Sonar 6 Studio. Where there are no audio or midi clips, there are usally some dots marking where the measures are - except these have dissappeared in my clips view, although I'm not sure when this happened but do remember having the dots at some stage. I've looked at the clips pane settings but can only find options for switching on/off the horizontal and vertical lines, but nothing to turn the measure dot markers back on. Am I missing something? Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance.
Thanks,
J.W.

Only a rough guess: have you recently changed the background color of clip pane? because if I remember correctly those dots have a standard color so if you switched the background to something near it, you wont be able to see them

    Again just a rough guess!

I'm currently at work, but I seem to remember the dots only appear on tracks that actually have something in them..

So a track with a clip that starts 3 mins into the song would have a load of dots before the clip.  It's a good way of showing whether a track is in use or empty when the clips are scrolled off screen.

If it's not like this, then it should be

I've been using the built in themes.
Yes it would make sense if the dots precede clips.... I'm at work also - but will check this later.
I find the dots handy to show how many bars there are in a section of a song (although I could use proper markers...)
    Thanks!

Yes, the dots do indeed appear before or in between clips. However it turned out I was using a Sonar colour theme downloaded from the net which had the dots the same colour as the background. In the colour settings the dots come under 'clips pane illipsis' so I was able to change this (or select a standard theme)
    Thanks all
