Downloaded Drum Kits
Look I downloaded some drum kits and some VSTS from this guy on youtube.I am still new to this entire production thing. The drum kits were downloaded to wav file format. I was wondering of some different ways I could go about loading them into Sonar. I know I could use Session Drummer but after that I really don't know. I have gotten some problems when in Session Drummer because the sound continues to sound even though I don't hit it again. It has occurred on a synth sound from one of the many kits I have downloaded. I thought the loading would be similar to how it would be done in fl studio like in the youtube videos. The purpose of the thread: 1. To explore my options of loading my wav file to create drum patterns, synth patterns etc. 2. Figuring out how to trigger them to play the actual kits sounds (SoI'm thinking in piano roll this will be useful) 3. To find the solution of the problem to Session Drummer listed above.

I am haveing trouble trying to understand what you are saying........ What guy ? By drum kits I am guessing you meen drum loops or patterns ? I could be wrong but in order for a drum program to be triggerd for the sounds would it not need to be midi files and not wav ? If its wave files you have then I am guessing your problem is just that. You are just playing the Wave file and its not doing anything else..... You need midi files to trigger the sounds in the synths / Session drummer. Wave files have no data that could trigger the synths VSts etc I maybe wrong but I think thats the case With out a link to the video and what you downloaded its hard to know what your on about. How on earth do you download a drumkit as a wav-file (as I understand it: as an instrument)??? If you have downloaded single drum hits, you need to put them in a sample player to be able to use them like a kit with your MIDI controller. You sure could explain things in a more organised way.
SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre - Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc. The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

Norrie Norrie By drum kits I mean both pre recorded sounds and loops. All of them as far as my knowlege are in wav format. The guy I am referring to is {bkbangerz215tv} or {bkbangerz215.} They are two channels ran by the same guy. If the guy beneath you with loading my pre recorded sounds in sample player would be the solution to playing in other VSTS within sonar how would I go about doing this? Certain sounds continue to sound even though I don't hit them again when in Session Drummer. I don't reallly have a problem with the majority of the sounds just about 10. And I have like 1,000.(well make that number close 2500 probably much high since i have overkill) There is one more issue, when I go to open the same .ssp file of a pattern it will play according to whatever is on the drums opened and not the saved file. Is there a way for me to get around this? Except the actual VSTs themselves, I haven't unloaded them yet.

www.freedrumkits.net This is a sight that I have gotten some drum sounds from. IT doesn't mattern which one you pick because they are all recorded in wav format.

Yeah Are you still not understanding the whole Wave is not Mid convo above ? I guess you could use theys in sampler of some sort but I wouldnt know what Wave will not control session drummer and thats what your trying to do/ You must be hearing sesson drummers own sounds. None of what is there can be put in PRv Prv is for midi not wave Norrie

So where can I get sounds from since it's not gonna work in PRV. I'm not trying to use wave to control session drummer, but the other way around which is working ok I guess. I was trying to load wav files with some other type sonar program VST or whatever. but that doesn't seem like that's going to happen. And something that is really crazy, other people use these sounds in PRV mode frequently in other major DAW programs. Why is everything so different for Sonar? Oh another thing. What is Beatscape really for? Can I use customized patterns?

You wont be able to load any wave file in to something that needs midi to controll it it just wont work. By other Daws Useing PRV I think you meen there midi editor ? PRV is Sonars midi editor as such. and that wont be wave they are puting in it will be midi. You want midi Drum loops theres 100000000s of free ones on the internet or you can buy them from the likes of groove monkey or loads of other companys or make your own. By you saying your trying to use session drummer to control the waves :S have no idea what you meen or are actualy trying to do If you want that wave you simply rag it in toa track in sonar You will already have a load on your computer for session drummer just search your computer for Midi or midi grove clips or somrthing like that I cant remember the exact location but I think there in the sample folder in my docs Basicaly you need midi to control session drummer

Norrie You wont be able to load any wave file in to something that needs midi to controll it it just wont work. You can load wav-files into a sampler or sample player to design your own instruments that you can play with your MIDI-keyboard. That's very basic. Some drum-programs accept user samples, but I don't know which ones do that.

If you download the drum kit it is easy way.You can load a sample player, sampler or WAV files to design their own tools, you can play your MIDI keyboard. Some programs accept user drum samples, but I do not know what to do this.
