Dragging AD2 To Timeline Problem

In the past I've had good success dragging my patterns to the time line but I'm thinking that may have been in EZ drummer2 using the step sequencer. This time when I put the now time marker where I want to insert my midi ad2 pattern it does nothing at all. Now I did go into SS and edit the pattern and saved it to pattern files and it's there as a .ssp and I usually save that to the desktop and just drag it to the timeline with no problems but it won't except that either and the copy paste fucntion won't work either. I probably did something to disable it but can't figure out what I did. Does anybody know what  I may have done and how I can get it back to dropping patterns on the timeline.
