Dream Audio Tools - Irish Bazouki

I have been waiting for someone like Boulder Sounds or Indiginus to come up with an Irish Bazouki sample library (I have sampled Greek bazoukis but its the flat backed Irish sound I want.)

In my inbox today was notice of a new product from Dream Audio Tools Indie Bazouki. For the full version of Kontakt.

Indie Bouzouki captures the autenthic feel of an Irish Bouzouki, played with plectrum. The brilliant and evocative tone makes it perfect for adding a folk flavour to any musical style, from Rock to Pop and Cinematic.

Indie Bouzouki includes fully payable patterns patches (straight and triplets feel), sustained tones, round robin patches, hammer-ons, chords and noises/effects.

Looks like its pattern based, but the are also "sustained patches". I did pickup their "Indie Fingers" guitar library in a fire sale and thats pretty good for what it does and the phrases are useable and not too flashy. The demo tracks sound OK and its cheap enough. I will probably take the risk.

I bought this and its not bad at all. It does cry out for some more extensive scripting, it would be nice to see the sustain and hammer ons in the same NKI with scripting to hammer on on legato for example.

The patterns are reasonably straight forward, useable and follow the project pitch and strum the held notes. There are some keyswitched NKIs but I think building a complex track will end up requiring several instances using different NKIs.

There is an intrestingly name NKI "Arpeggio Designer" but It does not appear to be anything more than sustains at first sight. I can't find any documentation. I will report back if I find anything.

All in its a good product for the price (I paid 17.40 euros) and it will be useful but I would have prefered to spend more for something more fully featured. So If Boulder, Orange Tree on Indiginous are listening there is still room in the market.
