Driver Type?

Win7, SONAR PE 8.3.1, Presonus FireStudio.

Hi, all. I'm re-loading to a different computer after a lengthy outage (years). Seems before I used ASIO drivers (in the WinXP days), but when I re-installed and upgraded where necessary, SONAR went to WDM/KS mode on the Presonus driver. I've changed it to ASIO, and that seems to be OK, but the ASIO panel will not come up when I click the button for it on the Options | Audio | General Tab.

Which driver mode should I be running in for best performance and sound?

Thanks in advance for your help!

All the ASIO panel button attempts to do is launch the software supplied by the hardware vendor. The ASIO Panel button failing is not unusual and nothing to get concerned about. The Presonus software should launch OK outside of SONAR. I have a different Presonus interface that definitely has a preference for the ASIO driver. The best thing to do is test the drivers available on your system and see which works best for you.

And you did install the latest correct ASIO drivers for your new OS? Don't use the CD that came with it.
