Driver Update Utility
Just thought I'll share this with everyone that uses Windows.
After just finishing my recent Win8x64 build, and with Win8 practically updating all the drivers on it's own (I manually updated the BIOS and my hardware drivers), on two seperate occasions I got this
SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION error. So after Googling it and reading a bit on it, I learned that a lot of the drivers installed by Win8 aren't quite the latest updates and need to find a driver utility that will do this effectively as well as efficiently (free was also something I wanted :)).
I found that the reviews on Slim Drivers were quite good and installed it. After installing and letting it scan my system (which took about 10 secs), it found 14 drivers that I needed to install (including some intel chipset drivers......about 10 seemed to be duplicates for some reason). I updated the first 4 (rebooted 4x) and rescanned......which showed everything updated. Since then, I haven't had any errors popping up and everything is running extremely smooth.
This is the link to
Slim_Drivers if anyone might like to update. Unlike some of the other bundled software that does various things (including driver updates), this one only does 1 thing and seems to have done it well.....so far, so good.
