Drivers vanished or not selectible

After talking to MOTU tech support to find out if Digital Performer would have any effect on my current Sonar setup (they said no effect) I installed a Trial version of DP.

I didn't like it, I uninstalled it and now only one input driver and one output driver are visible to Sonar. I reinstalled the drivers for my MOTU interface but it made no difference.

I managed to get all the drivers to show up in the Audio dialog by running the wav profiler in WDM mode and then switching back to ASIO – but the drivers shown can't be selected.
I can deselect the 'Generic Low Latency' the one available driver but I can't select anything else in the list. This means that anything assigned to 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, Mix Return, AEU, or Phones can't be heard and I have no way of selecting them as input or output drivers.

How do I get all drivers to show up and be selectible?

Thanks - rev

In order to change ASIO drivers both the input and output selections must be deselected. Only when both input and output are not selected may another driver be selected. This is due to the ASIO one I/O driver at a time for a host restriction.

Before this happened, I was able to check all the Input and Output drivers I wished to use in Sonar under Options > Audio > Drivers. They could all be checked at the same time. That meant they were available to me inside Sonar, anything I didn't select was not listed in Sonar.

One at a time can't be the way it's supposed to work otherwise 1) 4 microphones for a barber's quartet (say, inputs 1, 3, 5 and 7) would not be possible because you wouldn't be able to select different Inputs at the same time, and 2) I just had it all configured so that I could select any of the Input or Output drivers checked in Options > Audio > Drivers.

I believe you misunderstood. The restriction is related to the driver not the number of I/O channels the driver presents. May want to uninstall the Generic Low Latency driver since the interface comes with a factory supplied driver.

    You're a goddam genius!

That seemed to fix the availability issue, I still get the 'Silent outputs' error but that's nothing as long as all Outs are available.

    Thanks a lot! - rev
