Dropzone versus Kontakt

Hi there.  I want to get into using samplers.  Right now I am moving and don't have access to Sonar. I believe the bundled sampler is Dropzone.  Anyone have experience using?  I would like to load my own samples in and manipulate them to create my own sounds.  How does Dropzone compare to Kontakt?

Sorry I am new to sampling and not totally knowledgeable yet.

Dropzone is a good way to get your feet wet with sampling. It's dead simple to use and you can have a lot of fun with it. Of course, comparing it to Kontakt is like comparing your RC drone to a 747.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.
