Drum Loops - Please recommend

I used to use ezDrummer, however since my computer got toasted by lightning I ended up buying a new PC which
is now Windows 7 64 bit. I don't want to mess around with ezDrummer anymore. I like the simplicity of using drum loops.

So now I need some good drum loops. I have spent the whole day looking and come up empty handed. I downloaded all
the sample smartloops and they seemed to be promising. However, I auditioned all of them and nothing is close to what
I am currently looking for. I am hesitant to purchase them only to find they are not usuable for my needs.

The project I plan to work on first is a heavy rock style re-make of one republic apolgize.
The drum style I am interested in is like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyHmm4Boho0

I have not been able to find anything remotely close to this even though it is so ridiculously simple ... is it me or is it because its so slow.
I believe the tempo is 58 BPM. Or maybe 116BPM, I guess it depends on how you look at things.

Finally, I am currently checking out BetaMonkey loops but there are so many to choose from and I don't want to buy crap I can't use.
So I am hoping someone here can offer some good recommendations for me please? Again, in particular my first project will require
some loops that are similar to the example I included.

Thanks for the help!

    try sonic reality

also check the tempo in bpm. sounds round 50-70 tempo and 3/4 bpm at lease that what sounds like.

    hope this helps.

Not really re-create it but find complete loop libraries with a similar style.
Since this is my current planned project, I'm looking for some with a fitting
groove (beat, pattern, tempo) for the song.

Since I am new to using loops I am having a hard time deciding which to purchase.
I'm worried I'll end up with 100 loop's with several variations of the same and still
not have a fitting groove for the project in mind.

    Thanks for the help

I threw the original one republic MP3 onto a track and adjusted the metronome. It appears to be 59 BPM but I
its still not exact. I'm still learning. Thanks for the link, I got a bit of sticker shock though. I was not expecting to pay
nearly that much for some quality loops.

Thinking about the hours spent to find the right loops, I dare to recommend continuing with EZDrummer anyway, at least keeping it in the picture. Midi-loops are cheaper, and you can custom them to your liking and make them from scratch. Little by little you'd have a huge collection of beats that you know inside out, and when you learn to use EZD better, it only takes a few seconds to custom an "almost" midi-beat to a "that's it" beat.

Unless you're good in editing audio-loops, there's a risk of making all the drums on all your songs sound the same, if you use a few favourite loops from a few loop-collections. Variation is a lot easier to reach with EZD or other drum VST.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

+1 to Kalle ... especially the hours it takes (either way)

Albeit, its more professional sounding, IMHO, to have professional loops enhancing my mixes oftentimes; I routinely use:

    1) Producerloops.com  (the best song construction kits at about $30US ...)

    2) Beatscape (in Sonar)

    3) Band-in-a-Box (Audiophile Edition only)

(sorry I didn't have time to listen to the url yet)

you'll very rarely get what you want using loops. You'll get close. But, if you play the part the way you want it, then, you get it the way you want it. That said, loops will always sound/groove better. Yes, it is a dilemma.

Well, before I was on a computer-based DAW, I used a drum machine. When I got up and running on Sonar, I thought drum loops were the bomb! Then I progressed to EZ Drummer and now I'm happily using Battery 3. But since you've tried EZ Drummer and want to go back to loops, I would suggest the Beta Monkey loops. I got a lot of good stuff from them and it's pretty diverse. Sony has some good ones too... Sony's Vitale Drums have some great stuff too that might fit the style you're looking for.
