Drum Map Name Troubles

Can't use a w or a W while entering the name of a drum map in X1 - cuz Sonar has pre-defined these keystrokes as hot keys.

With plugs, you can press the little keyboard button in the upper right of the window to "give all keystrokes" to the plug.

No way to accomplish this simple result in Sonar's own windows, like the Drum Map Manager???   Ridiculous!

    Funny.

Actually, the library I'm creating drum maps for is East West Quantum Leap Symphony Orchestra (and trying to use EW in the name of the DM).  I'm using drum maps to control KeySwitch events to change articulations.  Works really well.  Until you try to name the DM.
Whackin Thang is a great sounding name though.

I didn't realize you couldn't do that. Strange. What's worse is my big gripe about not being able to audition effects when in drum map. I'll trade you problems!

just tried the W , works fine here.. how are you going into it ? doing it from drum map manager from the preference or from the bit under the slider ? it does sound like it's not in focus for you not to be able to edit it

sound.. you used to be able to audition them... what I used to do with earlier  versions was go into PRV view, but use a blank template and edit the names as I went .

Haven't made maps for a while, made lots pre x1 but it could be made easier. so can't comment more, but I doubt it's changed that much.

what would be cool is if they could  use the data off 500-1000 kik / snares etc.. to  take an educated guess at what the sound sample is thats being played, or at least to remove quiet midi notes.

I'm doing this under preferences/midi/drum map manager.  The window has the focus, because I can click around and change things like add/delete a new DM.  But when I type a W or a [space], the transport starts rolling.  Very frustrating.

Tried closing & reopening X1; no help there.  A few minutes ago it worked, inexplicably.  But then on the next DM it went back to its buggy BS.

Pretty sure this may be a bug.

If it was a bug a lot more people would be reporting it.

I've tried doing the same thing and just like Fog, it works fine here.

I've created about 45 different drums maps for EWQL keyswitches just like you're trying to do.

Incidentally, the W key is used in to return the Now time to Zero (rtz) and space is for starting/stopping playback.

It does sound like it's not in focus
