Drum kits donation update!

Hi everyone

I've been a bit quiet of late as it's all been a bit hectic.  I got made redundant (accepted a settlement agreement) and have been on gardening leave figuring out what I want to do for the past three weeks.  A surprising number of engineers lost their jobs from our office, which tbh makes me a bit worried as to its future.  American bosses, eh? ;-)

Anyhoo, enough of that nonsensical idiocy.

I got put into contact with a chap from CLIC Sargent by the Music For All charity who lives not very far from me.  CLIC Sargent are a charity supporting children and young people who have leukaemia or other types of cancer.  One of the things CLIC does is to provide housing near treatment centres so that kids who need treatment over the course of a week or so can receive this treatment without their parents having to transport them long distances every day.  The chap I got put into contact with is a musical ambassador to the charity.  He organises music workshops at these housing places, and also tuition, concerts, tours etc.

So he collected both sets of drums on Monday morning.  The Traps acoustic kit is going to go on tour with him as they are playing a series of concerts across the UK and provides an easy second kit for practising and tuition on the tour.  The electronic kit is hopefully going to a very talented young drummer named Emanuel; they tried providing him with a full acoustic kit before, but it proved to be impractical.

I'm really happy with how everything worked out, this was exactly the kind of thing I had in mind for the kits.

I'm expecting to receive some more information and maybe some pictures and such once the kits have been put into use, so I'll update this thread with any interesting developments.
