Drum locations on piano roll?
Like to know where, hmmm i guess center hits would be on drums? If I go through the drum roll I notice (lets use the snare) the snare gets hit several times giving a wide verity of sound, that I find to be extremely cool. I cant for the life of me figure out the main, center sound. Can someone help me out please :) Thank you.

Are these drum hits from a MIDI clip? In any case, you can open up the event list and see that often there are different velocities for each note in a clip. Or use the Staff view and drag the scrub tool across the notes and hear which one is the one you want. Then right-click the note to bring up Note Properties. Check what velocity it has then change the velocities of the other notes so they are the same. If I understand your qurestion...

What drum software are you using? I've sometimes wondered that too. When clicking on the drum-pictures in AD, for example, you get a different sound depending on which part of the drum or symbal you click, but playing a MIDI keyboard, I don't know if its only a velocity thing or ...

almost all drum softsynths, including AD, Session Drummer2/3, EZ drummer, Battery, Superior, yada yada...they all have multiple velocity layers which are triggered by the area of the drum/kit piece you click on. I think most if not all will give you the lowest velocity layer at the bottom and the highest at the top. using different velocities on the keyboard should give you corresponding sounds.

I think the Session drummer is also velocity dependent ..... where you hit the drum in the pic determines the sound and the velocity you hear, just like a real drum. They talk about that in the demo.
