Drum maps and Scarbee Basses?
I want to make a drum map for the Scarbee pre-Bass to use in prv.I know how to make a drum map but,the part of this I'm not sure about are the keyswitches the Scarbee basses use to perform various things(slides,legato,mutes,etc.....) Does anybody think this will work or have any idea how to make it work?

The key switches for Per Bass and Jay Bass are listed on page 13 of the reapective PDF manuals and on page 15 for the MM bass. (Amped versions may be different but should be easy to find).

I found a section in the help files of GTP 4 that tells how to make a drum map.I think I'll just go ahead and try it and,if it doesn't work,oh well.If it does work I'll tell of my success here. Thanks for the tip on where to find the keyswitches.

After reading through the pre-Bass manual it seems, that slides will be out of the question as far as the drum map goes. The slides in the pre-Bass are mapped to a sustain pedal and the vibrato is mapped to the mod wheel of a keyboard.

I really like the way slides are triggered by the sustain pedal and vibrato on the mod wheel is the natural place to put it. One of the things that puts Scarbee ahead of the pack is the realtime playability. There was some discussion in the NI forums and it is possible to go into Kontakt and map the slides to a key switch (the discussion was around how to use the sustain pedal for sustain).

I'm not much of a keyboard player hince the drum map idea.I'll have to go the NI forums and do search.I asked the same question over there about the Scarbee basses and drum maps. The Sarbee basses are awsome.

StevenMikel I'm not much of a keyboard player hince the drum map idea.. I think the drum map idea for keyswitches is a good one regardless of your Keyboard skills. I recall seeing one posted here for Music labs "Real Guitar" Even on a 61 note keyboard its not possible to access all of the Scarbee Bass key switches, and there are a lot of other packages with the same issue. I often find I have to overdub or add the Key Switch notes in piano roll.

I bought a 88 note keyboard just to use with the pre-Bass and, just couldn't get the hang of it.I sold the keyboard and bought a used p-bass copy but,I realy like the way the pre-Bass sounds. If I can get it to work with a drum map in prv,I'll be set.

you could also use / make an instrument definition instead.. much like how you pick an 808 or 909 it'll know to display the drums and not the notes. I did a empty drum map.. and you just edit / delete the notes you don't use.. it's on harmonic cycle website if you look.

Thanks for the tip.I found the empty drum map you mentioned.I don't know if it matters but.I'm using Guitar Tracks Pro 4.I've been having trouble with my drum maps, none of the presets are present when I try to open or assign a drum map in a project.I found the presets on my hard drive and tried to open one but, when GTP 4 opened,I got a message thar said"The file you are trying to open is not compatible with this version of Guitar Tracks Pro".I reported the problem to tech support but haven't heard back from them.I'm still working on this though,I've been playing with the pre-Bass in PRV whats doing what.
