Drumagog Install Question - SOLVED

I am using Sonar 8.5.3, 64 bit

I installed Drumagog using the license file option instead of iLok.

To install Drumagog you have to install the iLok software independent of how you license.

When I installed Drumagog it installed fine using the license file.

When I start Sonar and Sonar scanned the plug-ins, it stopped and gave me multiple warning dialog boxes stating that certain .dll files could not be found (e.g., cwdxpx1.dll, msdat.dll, yss.dll, etc.).  After I OK’ed through all of the warning dialog boxes, drumagog functioned perfectly.  I think many of the dialog boxes were associated with bit bridge.

I didn’t go through all of the other plug-ins but it did make my BBE Sonic Maximizer non-functional.

I had used the computer in that state for a month and a half to finish some projects but I would like to get the system functioning correctly.

I restored my computer to an earlier state (prior to the installation of Drumagog) so everything is working perfectly again BUT when I re-installed Drumagog the same thing happened.

Am I doing something incorrectly?  Any suggestions for a solution?

Being lazy, I just let the plugs install where they want to install themselves and I simply let Sonar scan for the 32 bit VST’s by scanning everything in “Program Files (x86)".

By default Drumagog was installing itself in a “VST” subfolder of the Cakewalk folder.

So, I went in and set-up separate folders for all of the 32 bit plug-ins and told Sonar to only scan those folders (drumagog now has its own folder) … problem solved and I’ve created the illusion of being a highly organized individual in the process.   BUT, I still don’t understand why the installation of Drumagog and the associated iLok drivers (required, even if not using iLok, like myself) “corrupted” (not sure if that is the right word to use) unrelated .dll files.

Good to hear that you sorted it out Dave.

Nobody, it seems to me, adhears to any standard when it comes to 32 vs 64 bit installs. I've taught myself to watch the installers very carefully and have a windows explorer open at the same time.
