Drums midi file from Nuendo not playing stylus in sonar

I have a midi file in sonar playing stylus in kit mode (where each of the 8 stylus channels is assigned to different parts of drum kit, snare kick hats etc).

I exported the file and my partner modified the midi notes in his nuendo. Then he exported the midi file and sent to me.

Now when I am importing the file in Sonar and placing it on the same stylus track no notes are playing. Does anyone know why?

Here is the modified midi file and the original file also -

Lots of oddities, here. First, all the tracks start at Measure 25, so you won't hear anything until you get there. Then there's just a single note in each track of the new files to establish the start of the clips, and nothing else happens for another 16 measures or so, while the drums in the original file start right at 25:01:000.

The "Original" file sounds like it is pretty much mapped to GM drums. The "Stylus" file is actually 5 separate tracks, the last of which is called Stylus RMX, and seems like it's pretty much the same track, except it starts 3 measures and one beat too early, so the down beat kicks are on the last quarter of every measure... or something like that. I kind of lost track in the process of trying to align things.

I could go on, but basically the new file's a mess, and needs to be straightened out by the individual who knows what he was trying to accomplish.

Thanks brundlefly. The new file is just a midi file exported from Nuendo. It is playing the stylus kit properly in Nuendo but after the 'Export midi' it turns out a mess. Do you know how to export it with the general midi mapping intact?
