Dual Monitor Setup

I actually had this setup & working properly until my older graphics card blew out the capacitors. I have a recently installed a GeForce GT 240 1GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express card in there.
I'm tryng to avoid straining my sys........so, should I just get an adapter and use only this card or should I get a new graphics card (considering my system specs below)??
What are the positives and negatives of using 2 graphics cards vs. using 1?

It shouldn't be necessary to fit 2 cards to connect 2 monitors.  There are plenty of cards available with 2 DVI outs.  2 cards, one for each monitor, would only be of benefit if you are a series gamer or are working on 3D modelling or something.  Otherwise you are just using up PCIe slots that you may want to use for other things later.

I agree with Kev - I think I would get a video card with a dual monitor output on it instead.

    Thanks Kev & Beagle....
I'm not a gamer and I also was thinking 2 video cards may have been wasting a slot I could use for something else. Thanks for confirming this.
I went ahead & got a DVI adapter and hooked it up.....Life is good!!
    Thanks for replying guys!!

I believe that the card you've got takes up the space of 2 slots and therefore 2 of these cards would occupy 4 spaces.  Definitely a waste.
