Dumb Question
I am not sure of the proper name but the time indicator that moves in track view so you can line up the time and place you want to be I am doing something that is causing it to disappear and I don't know what I am doing. One minute I will be watching it move along as the track plays and then it is gone. I guess you would call it the time ruler, it has the play and stop button on told of depending on what you are doing at the time, without that marker it is hard for me to know where I am in tracks. I know I know this is a dumb question but it is frustrating the hell out of me

BMOG, are your tracks still scrolling but the time marker only is gone? I've found if you edit something (say a volume envelope) while it's playing, the time marker will stay fixed in that location even though the project is still playing. The track view will keep scrolling along with the tune, leavining the time marker behind. Hitting Pause then Play catches it back up. Probably not something that simple, but just a thought.

No my tracks move like they are suppose to I am using a 64bit computer with 8 gigs of ram so I don't think it is the specs. I try to use keyboard shorts cuts like alt+1, D, I things like that I am wondering if a shortcut is taking it away. It is gone altogether so I wonder is there a way to enable and disable Now Time Daveny5 for letting me know what it is really called

I'm not aware of any shortcuts to turn off the Now Time marker. There are a few alterations you can make in its function, but they don't turn its visibility on/off. (They are under the Options tab in the Track View.)

The Pause/Break key makes the marker move smoothly v ju,ping one beat at a time. The computer scroll key makes the project scroll or not. The is a scroll on/off button on the VS-700 that is unfortunately by the jog wheel. It can get bumped and stop scrolling. (I don't see your euqipment list.) Just to be sure, under View | Display, there is a thing called Aim Assist that helps you see where you are located when you are editing. It is not the same as the Now marker and can be confusing. It does not scroll. I tunr it off unless I am doing detailed clip splitting or something similar. If the tracks are scrolling and the Now marker is disappearing, I have no idea.

A quick search reaveals that the Now Time marker has been disappearing on and off since at least 2009. So BMOG, what version/patch of Sonar are you using ?
Sonar Platinum [2017.10], Win7U x64 sp1, Xeon E5-1620 3.6 GHz, Asus P9X79WS, 16 GB ECC, 128gb SSD, HD7950, Mackie Blackjack
