Crap... I just shut down but I think you can get at that through the Edit > Preferences window. Not sure what subsection it's in though.

You can adjust how Soanr references MIDI octaves by adjusting "Set base octaves for pitches" in Preferences-->Customisation-->Display.

So if I prefer "middle C" to be at C4 (midi #60 or 261.626Hz), that means that I would have to adjust this value to "-1", right? And the default setting of "0" means that Cakewalk will set "middle C" at C5, right?

But yeah -1 is what you need. Sonar sees MIDI note #0 as 0 which would make middle C - C5 so setting it to minus should make middle C - C4. I think. It blows my mind if I think too much.

Isn't it better to just use editor librarian type software or the ACT function stuff to make the controller conform to Sonar?

If you're communicating with users of other DAWs, it can get confusing. Its better just to make them pitch the same midi note.

Might be a good candidate for a short mini-tut (really short).

I did go and played with it a bit. And the "pitch" values in staff view for example confirms that we are right. All is well.

With a detonation velocity of 8,092 m/s (26,550 ft/s) C-4 will do more than blow yer mind!
