Dyad DXi distortion issues

Using HS4 on a Win8.1 machine, AMD A-4 5000 1.50 GHz, 8 gigs RAM, with a Roland QUAD-capture interface.

Having a very bizarre issue using Dyad DXi. After running a session where I was unintentionally overloading CPU and causing dropouts, I attempted to change some of the buffer settings to see if I could push it a little. After this move, which also somehow seemed to change the projects sample rate (???), I began having issues with the Dyad DXi synth.

What I've narrowed it down to is that any time there is more than one Dyad playing at a time, one or both (or more depending) of those outputs become HORRIBLY distorted. But it seems like I can still use one at a time in a session.

After figuring out that there were no other sample rate issues, this is all I have figured out. Other synths are working, audio working. Reinstalling the Roland drivers didn't work, defragmenting drives didn't work, saving and resaving project and bundle files didn't work, attempting to reconfigure the VSTs didn't work, changing buffer settings around again hasn't worked....

Haven't tried to reinstall program or synths from the disc, I may not have it with me at the moment, don't really want to do that unless I absolutely positively have to. Any ideas???

Does this happen in a new project?

If so, I think your best option at this point is to do a reinstall of Dyad, or if that doesn't work, HS4.

That sounds like a problem with Dyad not handling multiprocessing correctly: temparily disable this in SONAR preferences (yes, you'll lose performance hugely) to see if 2 Dyads then work smoothly together.

Probably not a long term solution if it does (is it supported any more?) but at least you'll know the deal.

Workaround then would be to insert and use one, freeze/unload it and only then insert a second instance.

Hi guys,

Just to wrap this up... it WAS the multiprocessing that KPerry had mentioned. I could've sworn that I had tried toggling it previously but to no avail... I must be going crazy these days. The weird thing is, I still don't know what caused it since I'm 90% sure it wasn't originally enabled and that I didn't start messing with it till later.

Thanks so much, y'all are the best. If I could send you some warm muffins or some beer via FTP (food transfer protocol) I totally would!
