EFX on certain Vocal/Genres. Delay/Reverb? How you guys do this.

Hi everyone. I have 2 enquiries today actually. One being the topic above. I'm about to mix an album of songs of mix genres. It's the company's production for charity purpose.

Until now I much rely on the presets reverb etc mostly from the Sonitus FX included. I like to use the 'Short n Sweet' preset rather than putting too much reverb on the vocal. (Without knowing much about the individual setting - well..being a beginner I don't know at all actually, much rely on my ear to choose what for which) So, how do you do this to achieve more acceptable end result...I imagined to try applying some delay + some short reverb for faster numbers but still this will be my first try.

2. At the moment I'm in the middle of editing the vocals (Pitching/Timing etc) using the V-Vocal in Sonar which I find very helpful to me and one the reasons why I kept using this software ever since day one. One problem to me though, few times certain vocal signal that I want to repair MISSING, I notice the lower and softer notes. I ended doing nothing but leave it there sharp/flat or mistiming.

Any help anyone. Thanks.

You said it and its the only way to achieve the sound you want. Your ears are the tools that you use when determining what effect to use and what settings to set the effect. Its the only way to do thingsd right, since there are no set settings for these things
