Pretty cool, but I thought a lot of it fell into the "probably a lot of work to try and play the guitar in a way that playing a keyboard is easy". Like some of the guitar synth guys doing a good piano impersonation - wow, but why not just play the piano?

Having said that, the cathedral and Lord sounds really, really ruled.

In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

Simples.  If you don't know how to play a piano, but you DO know how to play a guitar, well...

I gets that. But the thing is kb players don't play the same kind of voicings or the same phrasings and whatnot. So I would think you would end up having to spend so much time on that where you might as well just spend your time learning a kb where you don't have to jump through hoops.

Playing through a bass synth pedal can be cool for certain things, but if I want a synth bass sound it's much easier to just do it on a kb.

Initial pricing is under $300, so maybe they'll go down a bit after there's enough being made.

Crikey indeed!!! I'll have to check out other pedals I've been interested in but haven't tried out, POG and HOG, others like that.
This one is interesting though. I love the sound of a Hammond in a band.

Sweetwater has them for pre-sale, for 220.30

The video is SWEET... YES!!! I have been saving a 25.00 gift card someone gave me. It is from GC but I will get them to agree to match SWs price "out the door" and use my coupon! This pedal is a "must have", IMO. It will provide inspiration, I particularly like the blending of guitar and organ at the end of the demo. Heck, I like it ALL. I want it ALL and I want it NOW!!

I posted this article over on keyboard central forum, and of course it was torn apart,

I think it is a neat device, and dont feel it will replace a keyboard player.

The Attack is some what off, and I heard some seeking of pitch, but hey for 220 dollars!!!

anyway - it does sound pretty good, but I have to agree with Drew.  I think a guitarist will be spending a lot more time trying to learn voicings that a keyboardist would play on an organ than hemight want to spend.

Yeah, I was thinking that the playing like the guy in the video would likely not be as easy as it looks.. BUT it still should be some real fun and should trigger creativity.
People need to take it for what it is... a guitar pedal, not a replacement for an organ.

Well I started the thread, and I certainly haven't furtled around with any posts. Anyway, isn't it only an admin that can do that?

There is a great shop / online supplier not that far from where I live in the UK called Stompbox, who specialise almost exclusively in...well....erm, stompboxes... If I can, I will pay them a visit and then at least be able to have a try before you buy.

Like a lot of the guitarists on here with studios, I have keyboard chops too, but I think this could have a place in a live band scenario which is guitar based, just to change round the sound on a couple of numbers to keep some variety going...It certainly took me by surprise when the promo video dropped in my inbox...

Garry - I certainly did not mean you had done anything to the posts.  It was probably reported to a mod and the offending posts were deleted.  no biggie.

I"m sure this box has some definite market value and could be useful to bands without keys.  and it doesn't sound too bad, but I hope that those who buy it don't find it too difficult to make it sound as good as the guy in the video did!
