Loved it. I always wanted to do a cover of Lucky Man. Good cover of a great old ELP tune. Great job!

Thanks! I love Lucky Man too. Must try that one myself someday.

I remember the original – didn’t like it very much – a bit too pseudo-mystical for me. I honestly like this more. She has a slight Chrissy Hynde thing going and I really like it and this treatment is “lighter” in that the entire feel is more casual rather than pretentious.
All the instruments sound create - nice mix as well.
The violin solos playing across from each other are really nice. Some classy playing. Good stuff!

Wow! Thank you very much, Manny! hat is pretty high praise from someone who dislikes the original. Never heard of Chrissy H. before. I'll have to look her up. Thanks again!

Scott,

Sounds great,  I like that it is a loose jam.  Never was an ELP fan but certainly enjoyed this song.  The musicianship is outstanding.

Regards

Thank you very much, Markno999!!!!!!!!!!

GREAT SCOTT!!!  it's Scotty!  good to see you back here, Scotty!

I've always loved this song!  big ELP fan

love that flute
love her voice
nice acoustic

there are some parts where the timing is off and could be tightened up some.
I'd turn the bass up some.

there's that fiddle!  love it!

not fond of the "moving stereo" effect on the fiddle, tho.  I'd leave it centered.

great work overall!

Thank you very much, Beagle! Good to be back here!
It needs tightening up if I am going to do anything with it, but unfortunately I erased the original so that's not going to happen. LOL. Every bit of this was purely experimental based on a challenge or dare if you will.

Nice challenge.

Great job all around.  Being an ELP fan since the 70's I can certainly identify with this.   The flute solo was a nice change and blended well with the guitar, bass and percussion.   The violin solo on the other hand... just flat out rocked.      As someone else mentioned shades of Robby Steinhardt in this context.

Good stuff Scotty. My knowledge of ELP is limited (I had the first album and Tarkus) so I wasn't familiar with this song. I looked it up after hearing your version, and you did an excellent job.

I'm not sure what is going on with sound cloud, but I cannot get your track to play on my macbook (firefox). Gonna try to play it in the studio tonight instead.
