Its a good card. What did you pay for it? MF has it for $149 with the Proteus X bundle.

I have one. Its excellent. No worries. The patchmix looks a little intimidating at first. But once you get use to it works like a charm. Hey Dave how you doing.

You'll like the way it performs with your music production. It's not too hot with games, mostly because the games aren't written to access it properly. If you do play games on the same computer, you should set up two hardware profiles before you install the E-MU 0404. I spent some time fighting with this one before I found the way. Check your existing audio connections, and get the appropriate adapters beforehand so you can get up and running without making extra trips to the electronics store.(not mentioning that one place in deference to Dave). There are some pretty cool plug-ins packaged with the 0404, too. Good move. Enjoy.

I got the card with the proteus bundle. I ran into the same problem with playing games on my system. also, if you are using win xp, follow the directions to the tee! the card is basically a creative labs sound card and the drivers windows has will not let the card work right.

I love diet Dr. Pepper. Its my favorite soda. The Proteus is a very nice softsynth. Checkout the Emu website. I'm sure they have a demo. You may not need it, but for an additional $50, I think its well worth it.
