EMU Driver Missing

I installed Sonar X1 on a Window 7 (64bit) machine.  I moved my EMU 1212m system 1010 card with 0202 daughter card)  from my old XP machine.  I downloaded and loaded the drivers and PatchMix DSP from the EMU site.  I can see input signals in the PatchMix DSP monitor.  When I try to add the driver in Sonar, (Edit | Preferences), only one driver appears (E-DSP Wave).  When I select it, a message box pops up to inform me "The following driver(s) are do not support the audio format, or the driver is being used by another application".  I followed the instructions on the Cakewalk and EMU sites but I am stumped.  The one interesting thing I found on the Cakewalk site was a hot fix for ASIO drivers for certain hardware.  One of the devices was the M-Audio 1010.  I don't think it is the same one I have.  There were enough cautionary statements to make me think twice about intalling the hotfix.  I hope I am missing something stupid.

I run an 1820m with ASIO drivers. The hotfix is definitely not needed for E-MU interfaces. The above description is what my 1820m looks like to applications that don't support ASIO drivers. Make sure SONAR is set to ASIO driver mode.

I had that also. The E-MU drivers sum all the inputs in WDM mode. As Brundlefly said, "use ASIO drivers".

Also you may get better functionality from the E-MU beta driver on W7 than the release version.

However, I'm still using XP x86 so I can't confirm this but this is the only driver specifically designed for W7, I've been using it for several months now without issue.

The W7 Beta drivers have been working very well for me. The thing that bothers me is that it's been beta for a long time.

Thanks for the timely help.  Being a bit of a newbie, I didn't set the driver to ASIO.  I didn't internalize that instruction correctly.  I am glad it was cockpit error rather than some obsure bug.  Thanks again!
