E-MU Proteus Pack for Dim LE Installation question

First off, let me inform everyone of an amazing deal, available here:

http://www.digitalsoundfactory.com/deal_of_month.p hp

It's 6 E-MU Proteus packs in one bundle for only $99.00! Proteus 2000, Mo Phatt, Virtuoso, Planet Earth, PX-7 Drums and Extreme Lead 1 all together.
So I bought them and DL-ed, thought I was following the instructions, and Dim LE won't see the folder. I copied it into both the Multisamples folder and the Programs folder. Dim acts like it's not even there. Anybody already have this product? Can you help? I know I must be doing some simple thing wrong.

btw, I think this is only available til Sunday. ----

OK, got the folder to show up in the browser, thanks. When I try to open a program, it gives me "Multisample Not Found - Carney.sfz" or whatever the multisample is called. I try to open the sample itself, and get "Error Uncompressing Program Data - Program Load Failed". Weird.

i've had a similar problem, the expansion packs, you have to have the separate folders in the programs and multi samples, not just the one folder with the packs in it

Worked. Thanks! Now I guess I'll need to upgrade to Dim Pro since there's no ASDR envelopes in DIM LE - I like looong release pads.

If I were to buy the full Dim Pro, then I could change the attack and release on these patches, right? I like slow attack and long release pads, especially on those Planet Earth pads.

That IS a pretty good deal--especially considering Cakewalk is offering those same packs for $20 each right now. That would be $120 for the entire set, if you bought it from Cakewalk.

Sounds good. Of course, now I'm thinking, "Why not spend the extra $120.00 to get the full Sonar PE 8.5 and have EVERYTHING".

Oh, and the Proteus packs sound GREAT! No more worrying about out-of-tune Dimension presets.

I am actually wondering about this one:
    http://www.store.cakewalk.com/b2cus/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=32-EMPP0.00-10C

The whole pack for registered users for $69...not as download (i.e. waiting time), but that's a massive steal.

Would nicely complement the best Hardware synthesizer from E-MU - the Morpheus - which neatly sits in the rack next to me and strangely was never sampled

    Comp: Sonar X1PE, AMD 1055T Hexacore @ 4 GHz, 8GB, Win7-64, Velociraptor 300GB (System), Caviar 640GB Black Ed (Data), SB X-Fi Fatality
Hardware: Focusrite Saffire Pro40, Edirol M-16DX, Novation Remote Zero MK2, Waldorf Blofeld, E-Mu Morpheus, Novation Drumstation, and loads of other stuff..

For $69, that's an even better deal.

Unfortunately, Cakewalk STILL can't seem to fix the price on the full set for "new customers". They're charging $149 for all six packs, even though 6 X 19.99=119.94. There's a $30 difference that CW still hasn't accounted for, unless they're charging new customers for Dimension LE. (The Web site says you get Dim LE and 500 sounds for free though, so I don't know what they're doing.)

Keep in mind that you'll have to tweak these a bit: they sound good, but they don't all take advantage of Dimension's power. Out of the box they all won't necessarily sound like their Proteus counterparts. They're good sounds though, and for what amounts to $11.50 each, you'll have a ton of new sounds.

And I don't know why the Morpheus was never sampled, either. I asked about that a few months ago, but no one seems to know why.

Just got the Mo Phatt today and installed.  I opened up Dimension Pro and hit F5 in the program browser but I don't see the Mo Phatt folder showing up.  I verified that there are Mo Phatt folders in the program and multi samples folders.  Any Ideas?  This is my first expansion for Dimension so I'm probably missing something.

Did you install it to the Dim LE multi samples / progs folders, or the Dim Pro?

OK, figured it out.  The E-MU expansion pack installed to C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Programs.  The browser in DP points to C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Programs.  ProgramData is a hidden folder.  I copied the folder from the former to the later and now it's working.  The data in those two folders appear to be the same.  I wonder why DP requires these two apparently identical folders.

Techead, I did a default install of the E-MU pack for Dimension Pro.  I noticed that it installed automatically to the 64 bit version and not the 32bit version.  Useful to know for those with both versions on their system.

You can thank Microsoft for the almost identical folders. The "Program Data" folder started with Vista, and they've kept it with Windows 7. Some programs use it; some don't. Dimension Pro uses it--and that's quite a pain for those of us sticking with Windows XP.
