Why would you come to a forum where the software runs on a PC and not Apple products?

I had an E-MU product before my current AI and it was fine. Just not the quality that I have now.

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

Why wound any company not support a current OS if they expect to continue selling hardware? Could this be a hint that e-Mu is getting out of hardware?

Maybe so. Why release a PCI-e card if the brand is going away?

The writing has been on the wall for a long while now. Although for the PC running Win 7, the Vista beta drivers (released in 2008) are solid and dependable. EMU's DSP FXs cannot be used anymore as a plugin within Sonar but that's no biggie at all. So my EMU1616m will live on giving me some time to save up and move up.

I gave up on my EMU 1616m several months ago after being patient and waiting for the Win7 drivers to come off beta status.  Never did.  I've since sold it and moved to the ROC and couldn't be happier.

Stick a fork in em, they're done.

Creative/EMU released new driver set for their USB audio interfaces ... for MAC O/S (Leopard/Lion) so, ... lets hope they're working with Win7/Win8 drivers as well.

Not a chance.  All they did was put the interfaces they couldn't get W7 drivers working properly for in the 'legacy' category. Basically ditching them as far as support goes.

Unless you are waiting for an update to what are listed as 'current' products don't expect anything, if you are using one of their current products don't expect very much.

They've even taken to listing the 2008 released 2.1 PCI drivers as being released on 'July 11', they are in fact the same old drivers.

I'd never go near them for anything in future.

fwiw, the association between E-MU and Creative goes way back. E-MU developed the sound font concept for Creative, and I'm fairly certain the onboard synth on the older Soundblaster cards(MU-401?) was an E-MU product.
That said, in the past year or so, it hase become quite apparent that Creative has all but pulled the plug on the E-MU line.
Kind of sad really, because I love my E-MU0404(PCI), but I'm still running a P4(XP) system. It was(is) a very good sound card offered at a very low price point.
I believe E-MU has fallen victim, largely due to corperate mishandling, but also to fierce competition in a relatively small arena.

    Update!

It looks like Windows 7 (Beta) drivers for 0404 USB works well in Windows 8 as well. I tested this using 64-bit Developers Preview version of Win8.

This maybe means that situation is same least for 0202 USB and TrackerPre USB.

I also tried ESI DuaFire (a FireWire audio interface) with ESI's current Windows 7 driver reslease (3/2011) ... this device worked perfectly as well.
