EQ Sweep automation

Ok, I should know how to do this but I don't. How do I "SWEEP" an EQ so that a drum track starts with only the low end and then the mids & highs slowly come in?

THANK YOU!

Shawn

I would put a low pass frequency envelope on the track gradually raising the freq as the track plays.

Put a node at the very start of the track at a freq you want to start at and another at the end of the track at the end level. Straight line between the two.

@FBB... this is kind of a dumb question but "envelopes" are when you go right into the clip view and adjust levels, draw, create fades and stuff like that right?

I'm just trying to get my terminology down. And he didn't define envelope, he just said to use an envelope. I'm assuming the answer to my question is yes.

What I did, with your help was inserted the cakewalk FX/EQ and then went to the envelope automation drop down and inserted envelopes for each band of the EQ and did the sweep...thanks!

If you're not familiar with envelopes, another good way is to sweep manually but with write enable activated on your EQ.

You only need to do this roughly as the next step is to go back into Track View (with Write enabled switched OFF) and to edit the envelope you just recorded.

For a more dramatic effect, try the included ModFilter. Basically the same deal but you can also apply Resonance at the cutoff point. Again it sounds like you have achieved the effect you want but thought I'd toss this in.
