EQ settings disappear in Sonar x2 Essentials

I"m working along, mixing my project, and I look up and the EQ on ever channel is suddenly flat.  I"m using the built in EQ on the channel strips.
The on/off button at the top of each strip will still be "lit"/on, and I think it still has my frequency and Q settings, and the bands are still enabled. but the curve has gone flat.

Then I notice that a plugin now appears in the FX bin that was not there before, its the built in sonitus eq plug in that corresponds to what is used by the channel strips, but I didn't add it in the fx bin i used the channel strip.

This other forum seems like these guys were having the same problem, but I didn't see a fix:

Hey there, welcome to the Cakewalk Forum.

Have you tried installing the update to SONAR X2a? You can download the update and install it here:

    http://www.cakewalk.com/support/kb/reader.aspx/2007013301

Under "ProChannel" you can see that this has been addressed:
"Sonitus:EQ may appear in FX bin in legacy projects"
