ESC: EmuX --> SFZ?

I saw on Extreme Sample Converter's web page that it can import and export EmulatorX, ProteusX, and SFZ files. But I've asked around before and people who have tried to change the formats of EmulatorX sounds were not able to due to some form of encryption. Has anyone tried ESC specifically to change EmulatorX or ProteusX sounds to SFZ for use in Dimension? That would be super dope if it would work.

Thanks.

    The ProteusX works, but any of the the other disks like Mo Phatt, Vintage Vol.s, Virtuoso, etc do not convert as those are encrypted.

    Hmm, ok, so I could go out and buy the ProteusX and ESC, then convert the stock ProteusX library to SFZ and be good to go? No worries on the other stuff as they are available in the SFX format anyways. Do you think its worth it for the ProteusX sounds?

    I use them, but the same sounds are available for Dimension Pro now. The Proteus 2000 for Dimension Pro is the same patch set as ProteusX, so you might as well get that one since it would be cheaper than ProteusX and ESC. I got all those, and I still am thinking about getting the SFZ ones from Cakewalk because of all the SFZ tweaks that I don't get just from conversions.

    Oh, cool. I didn't realize that the ProteusX bank is the Proteus2000 bank. What's the deal with the EmulatorX bank? Is it just rehashed sounds that are available elsewhere or is it new stuff?

    Thanks!

    EmulatorX has the same sounds as ProteusX, but it also has the sampler features and ProteusX is just a rompler.

    I don't have ProteusX, but I do have EmulatorX and a Proteus2000. EmulatorX includes some other good samples , a good piano, and Saint Thomas Strings (along with the p2k samples). These do not seem to be software protected. I have purchased their Planet Drum, Vintage Keyboards 1,2,3 and Old World Instruments samples sets. These are protected in some fashion, as when I did a complete reinstall of WinXP, I had to reauthorize these banks (via CD insert). I would bet you could export all the samples as wave data and get around the copy protection, but you DON'T want to do that (see ya in a couple of years).

    Personally, I'm a big fan of EmulatorX. The industry seems to be moving away from sample data, to samples locked into virtual players, something that bothers me.
