EW EastWest Question (?)

Trying to make sense of their Quantum Leap Pianos pricing strategy. What's the difference between:

Pianos Platinum Windows Hard Drive (External) Comes on a Touro-S 1TB 7200rpm USB3 external hard drive $199

and

Pianos Platinum Full License (Sound Data not included) $199

?

I assume one is shipped and the other downloaded. Sound data not included? What, you get no sounds?!

    Platinum Pianos is not downloadable.

If you don't have an EastWest Drive with all the data
there then you need to buy the Hard Drive Edition.

The License is for those who have purchased a Data Drive already...

So to sound totally stupid.... I'm buying the data for $199 and then the license for $199 so total comes to $398. Why would you buy the data without the license? See why I'm confused? There should be some kind of explanation on their site for idiots like me.

The second price is for those who want an additional license and already have everything installed.

No...if you buy the Hard Drive Version that includes the License and the Hard Drive.
The second $199 is for a License ONLY....because you already have the Data
and want a License...or, as Dan says, you want a second License...

Thanks guys. How nice of them to give me an external HD for free. I can only assume it's use isn't exclusive to the EW content only as I might want to put other libraries on it. (??)

Exactly. But be sure to ask for the right one (Mac or Windows).

Hey Fleer, do you have this? Wonder how it sounds compared to the Bechstein. All the samples are classical pieces. Sale price is lower than the Bechstein but would never consider it at full price. And you never know what issues lurk until you buy and install since there's no demo.

Yep, got Pianos Platinum last summer for $80 or so from Amazon, including a 1TB WD drive. These are nice pianos but a bit old.
