Pretty much. And be less flexible than BFD3.

I'm so over EW's stuff :P.

This is good, because hopefully it might force an issue for Toontrack to come out with Superior 3.
It's a good time to be a recording musician.

Don't forget the new Drumcore! Although I think this might be doing a bit of a Septic Tank 3 in relation to release dates!!!!!

Hi guys,

I'm after some feedback please. I was asked to do a demo for PD. So this is what I have done.

Fresh ears would be useful. Are the drums too loud? mix feedback would be handy

Warm Regards,

I like it...drums are fine IMO...my suggestion would be to get the snare a little more forward during the main part of the song.  It seems to be getting a little lost...during the interlude it's spot on...overall it's a nice track...

Well, it's now released. I'm not really impressed at all with the demo presets. I'll wait to see what some more demos sound like and videos that show how much actual control you get with the interface but for now, I'm sticking with AD2 since it does what I need.

Pretty steep entry price with both volumes considering all the alternatives out there.  Also, listened to the demos and liked Toontrack better.

That's typical of EW products. Give it a few months and the price should come down. Still, it won't be worth $200 if it doesn't stand up to the competition.

I have a mega fast IP but EWQL has mega slow bandwidth for
such a "prestigious" company...

Yah, they do like to talk themselves up a lot but they lack in quite a few basic needed areas.

Let us know what you think. It seems a lot of the drums on the demos are EDM purposed. Would love to see what goes beyond the demos.

You can use this post again a year from now. I've removed all Drumcore products from my system. They were behind the times when they were Submersible.

It would only be a 3GB download if they took out all the 808 kicks. A 100 GB download? No thanks, I've got plans for the Summer.

And I really hope there isn't a Superior Drummer 3 anytime soon. I haven't even upgraded Omnisphere yet. Although, there might be a big clearance sale on SDX packs ahead of such a release...

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

They lack severely in the Customer Service Dept., the "release" Dept., the Download Dept.,
the "getting the customer their license Dept", etc  and they don't lack at all in the "We're the company
and you are just the customer" Dept. and the overcharging Dept...and they make no apologies...
they are the "Disney" of Samplers...

But they do have quality products...just not the "high and mighty" products that they
think they are...there is a LOT of competition at about half the price and about the same, and
sometimes better, quality.

That's why NONE of these companies get my money until SALE time...

The "illusion" of value is wasted on me...there will ALWAYS be a sale...so you're just better
off pricing your products reasonably, having fewer sales, selling more, and worrying less..
at least that how I feel about it...YMMV

They also lack in the technology department. Play is a POS. I could understand making their own sampler if it did something special, but Kontakt has it beat in ever facet. They only made their own because they wanted iLok copy protection.

Play doesn't even support sample compression, which is why their stuff is so massive and part of the reason why it takes so long to load.

They are pretty good at recording, I'll give them that (I say pretty good because they have bad samples sneak in more than they should) but they seem to fail at pretty much every other aspect. Hence, I am done with them :P.

I agree that it's nowhere near what Kontakt is feature wise...

But I've never had an issue with Play that I'm aware of...it's
always worked for me...but it is indeed "Just a player" ...
with some added features...but you can add the SSL pack
for $99....

The demos sounded so bad they pulled them down off their website.
Very poorly released & over hyped since it was announced way back in 2007.
