EXDrummer mapping

I just purchased a used set of Yamaha DTXplorer e-drums to trigger EZDrummer in Sonar producer x2 via midi out from the drum brain.
It reads the signal, but not mapped correctly (kick is snare sound, etc). I went into preferences and changed the in note and out notes, but it had no effect on what I was hearing.
I'm sure someone has an easy fix.
Thanks.

There are two things you need to to have handy before you begin. You need the midi layout for the EZDrummer kit you're using and the midi layout for the Yamaha DTXplorer. The midi layout for EZDrummer Drums is in the documentation installed with the kit.

Create a new midi map for the DTX explorer - match the DTXplorer midi notes to the corresponding EZDrummer kit notes.
