EXPORT TO AUDIO: Took me a while to get this

Hi,

It took me a while to get this right...
I set up a headphone mix in my desk (Tascam DM-4800). So I was sending a AUX from my Master Bus to OUT 3-4 of the board. So OUT 3-4 was going to the headphone mix.
Everything was fine until I have checked that my mixes (exported files) where terribly distorted, but not peaking!
I then (after hours of checking and re-checking) checked that I was exporting my final mix through my OUT 1-2 and also my headphone mix 3-4....This resulted is a very compressed and distorted mix.
So now, if I want to mic, I have to disable (or mute) my headphone mix.
What am I doing wrong?
Is there a way to export only what goes through the master master? I have never had this problem before, so maybe some setup is screwed here.
Please advise.
joni

Select Buses under Source Category in the Export dialogue, and highlight only the Master.

I always bounce the Master bus to a track that I call Master Bounce, (routed direct to Main Outs) and export just that track when I'm satisfied that it accurately represents everything in the project.

Yes, that sounds like the easiest way. Thanks, joni

Or simply select Main Outs in the Export dialog

If you use Entire Mix then it will render everything routed to any additional pairs of outputs, like your headphone bus

Bristol that is the opposite of what Djoni wants to do. If he uses main outs it would be as he described in his OP. What it would do is mix outs 1-2 plus 3-4 to his stereo file. He needs to select only one stereo buss that should be in this case his master buss only. No need to select the the entire mix, just the buss. Brundelfly had it spot on.

    Hi John.

If you select Man Outs, there is a further dialog box that lists all "active" pairs of outputs.

    Mine get listed as:

    Focusrite Saffire Pro 1-2
    Focusrite Saffire Pro 3-4

Highlighting just the first option removes outputs 3-4 from the export
